Armasuisse – Ponte di Castelle

In this project for Armasuisse Real Estate, irmos showcased the potential of its data-driven approach to significantly increase the safety factor and reliability of the Ponte di Castelle bridge. By combining real-time vibration measurements with digital twin technology, irmos demonstrated how unnecessary retrofits could be avoided while optimizing structural performance. This method holds the potential to optimize costs and CO2 emissions but also to extend the bridge's lifespan, providing a clear path toward safer, more sustainable infrastructure management.

“This innovative data-based approach coupled with risk considerations at the level of portfolio can contribute to our sustainability goals by extending the lifetime of existing infrastructures and limiting retrofitting measures to the strict minimum. We now consider upscaling our collaboration with irmos to a portfolio of around 40 bridges.”
